The name says it all; Small Bay is the smaller, quieter and more secluded neighbouring beachfront areas of Big Bay, which is situated on the stunning West Coast of Bloubergstrand in Cape Town. Small Bay is the beautiful beachfront area that is next to the popular Big Bay area. As is the case with Big Bay, Small Bay offers gorgeous white sandy shores, with stunning views over the ocean and also of the majestic Table Mountain. Some of the most photographed views of Table Mountain have been captured from Small Bay beach, and many of Cape Town’s tourists and visitors are delighted by the experience. There is an array of lovely restaurants and coffee shops to choose from, each with their own unique character, that look over this beach and welcome guests for an early breakfast and coffee or a relaxing cocktail while the sun sets overhead. Small Bay beach is well loved because it is less busy, but is also ideally situated for a family outing. Small Bay is a popular spot for kite surfers because it gets pretty windy over the summer months, creating spectacular waves that are perfect for water sports. Be sure to bring something warm along when visiting this beach, as the wind seemingly comes from nowhere and is sometimes cold and icy.
