The exquisite coastal suburb of Bloubergstrand regularly welcomes holiday visitors to spend time in one of Cape Town’s favourite settings, regardless of the season. With Blouberg’s expansive beachfront displaying gorgeous views of Table Mountain and the city lights flickering beneath it, visitors from all over the world join locals in appreciating the unmatched beauty of this world-class destination.
Bloubergstrand is an Afrikaans name and translates in English to Blue Mountain Beach, quite literally defining the best attributes of this seaside suburb. The main attraction in Bloubergstrand is undoubtedly the beachfront, which is very popular among surfers and kitesurfers - the sky is often a blanket of brightly coloured kites and the beach welcomes families with kids, water-sport enthusiasts and travellers taking in the gorgeous surroundings. The beaches of Blouberg are frequented by photographers and some of the most stunning pictures of Table Mountain from across the Atlantic Ocean have been photographed here. With Blouberg Beach being so popular, an array of restaurants and cafes are situated along the shore and many of our holiday apartments are situated within walking distance.
Eden on the Bay is another popular attraction in Blouberg and is also where a number of our holiday apartments are located – here, guests can experience Big Bay beachfront without even needing to drive, while also being moments away from a selection of ocean-facing restaurants, quirky retail stores and more. Big Bay is one of the country’s favourite surfing and kitesurfing hot spots, as the wind conditions are ideal for water sports and create the most amazing waves.
Bloubergstrand is located a convenient 15 minute drive from Cape Town’s city centre. Due to its central location, this suburb regularly welcomes business travellers to experience accommodation away from the rush of the city but close enough for a comfortable commute. Bloubergstrand is also close to a variety of other attractions and destinations, with the West Coast next door, a myriad of wine estates easily reachable in less than an hour and beautiful neighbouring suburbs.
